FSSAI directs e-commerce companies to ensure a 45-day shelf life for food items

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has directed e-commerce platforms to only deliver food products with a minimum remaining shelf life of 45 days or 30% of their total shelf life. This measure aims to enhance consumer protection and ensure food safety in the expanding online food retail sector.
