State to release new policy to grow, nurture AVGC sector

Tamil Nadu is preparing to release a new state policy aimed at supporting the growth of the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic (AVGC) sector. The state’s IT department is collaborating with AVGC industry players to gather input for the policy. Tamil Nadu, with its strong engineering talent base and entertainment industry, is well positioned to lead in the AVGC space. The government plans to provide incentives and infrastructure support to entrepreneurs and companies in the sector. The AVGC industry is estimated to be worth $400-500 billion globally, with India holding just 1% of the market.
