Lucknow shoots for the sky with Brahmos missile

Uttar Pradesh is aiming to become a major defense manufacturing hub in India, with the indigenous BrahMos missile set to be produced in Lucknow. The state government plans to establish defense industrial corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and the BrahMos unit in Lucknow is expected to produce 80 to 100 missiles per year starting in 2024. In addition, the state will also manufacture satellites, with Hyderabad-based Ananth Technologies Limited investing Rs 3,000 crore in the project. The defense corridor in Uttar Pradesh will cover six nodes across the state.
