Mandya bandh: B’luru-Mys traffic may be hit today

Farmers and pro-Kannada organizations in Mandya district have called for a total bandh to protest against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. The bandh has received support from several organizations. Security has been tightened in Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, and Bengaluru in anticipation of widespread protests. The police are prepared to handle the situation and have deployed additional security near the KRS dam in Mandya district. The protests have spread to other districts as well. The head of Adichunchanagiri Mutt and actor Abhishek Ambareesh have also joined the protests.
