The Communist Party of India (Marxist) state committee has accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of politically motivated actions in its probe into the Karuvannur Co-operative Bank fraud case. The party claims that the ED is targeting MLA A C Moideen to discredit the state’s cooperative sector. The CPM state secretary, M V Govindan, stated that the ED is trying to fabricate evidence against Moideen. Govindan also accused Union cooperation minister Amit Shah of attempting to gain control over the cooperative sector. The party expressed satisfaction with the state government’s performance but aims to strengthen its publicity wing.
