Cooperative sector not irrelevant, was hit by political interference: Home minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke about the importance of the cooperative sector and its bright future. He mentioned that political interference in the past had hurt the sector’s growth, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s separate Cooperation Ministry has revived it. Shah highlighted the economic model of cooperatives, where even the smallest contributors can help develop the country. The ministry has taken steps to boost rural and agricultural growth, including forming Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in every panchayat. They have also introduced additional activities for PACS to make them more viable.
