Unique geotagged IDs for stray dogs in B’luru

By on September 24, 2023 0 9 Views

In a first for Bengaluru, stray dogs will be given unique IDs in the form of geotagged QR codes. The QR codes will contain information about the dog’s breed, vaccination and sterilization status, health condition, and contact details of feeders. The tags, resembling keychains, will be laminated to protect them from harsh weather. The initiative aims to help citizens, veterinarians, and volunteers keep track of the city’s stray dog population and ensure their welfare. The project is a collaboration between the Veterinary College, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, and the state animal husbandry department.
