‘Nainital subsidence due to soil weakening’

By on September 25, 2023 0 9 Views

Officials in Nainital, India, have attributed the collapse of a house in the Chatan Lodge area to heavy rainfall. The soil in the area weakened due to water seepage, leading to landslides. Geologists will be consulted for a permanent solution. Crack prevention measures have been taken, including the construction of a retaining wall. Residents of 22 houses near the collapsed structure have been evacuated and provided with temporary accommodation. Cracked houses are being examined, and people are being relocated to safer places.
