Passengers’ fear spurs ST conductor to drive bus

A bus conductor in Navi Mumbai took control of the bus after the driver began driving rashly due to being drunk. The conductor convinced the driver to stop the bus for the safety of passengers and other road users. Bus conductors in Maharashtra are officially eligible to drive buses and are expected to double as drivers if needed. The conductor drove the bus for 60 km while the driver slept. The conductor filed a complaint and a criminal offense has been lodged against the driver.
