Monsoon withdrawal in Delhi may be delayed for a third year

The monsoon withdrawal in Delhi has been delayed this year, with the normal withdrawal date being September 25. In the past decade, the monsoon has generally retreated from Delhi in late September or early October. The monsoon has already retreated from parts of southwest Rajasthan after a nine-day delay. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the withdrawal is based on meteorological conditions, including no rainfall for the past five days and dry weather conditions. Rain activity in northwest India is expected to decrease in the next 48 hours.
