Tim Southee gets green light for ODI World Cup

Tim Southee has been given clearance to join the New Zealand squad for the ODI World Cup in India. He fractured and dislocated his right thumb during a match against England. Southee is expected to recover in time for the team’s opening match on October 5. However, as a precaution, Kyle Jamieson has also been included in the squad. Jamieson will join the team for training but will not be available for warm-up matches. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is also recovering from an ACL injury and may not be available for the first match.
