Massachusetts man indicted on charges of trying to open jet’s door, attacking crew on United flight

A Massachusetts man has been indicted for attacking a flight attendant with a broken metal spoon and attempting to open an airliner’s emergency door during a cross-country flight. Francisco Severo Torres, from Leominster, was indicted on charges of interference and attempted interference with flight crew members. Torres was deemed not competent to stand trial in July and further treatment was recommended. The incident occurred on a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Boston.
