KMC to start dengue helpline for real-time info on bed availability

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) health department plans to establish a helpline to provide real-time information on hospital admission status for Covid and dengue patients. The KMC will reserve beds for dengue patients at a civic body-run hospital and Islamia Hospital. Additionally, the KMC will reserve 100 beds at a newly constructed hospital in Kidderpore and arrange for 200 more beds at Islamia Hospital. The KMC will also take strict action against those littering in dengue-prone areas and issue notices to promoters who fail to address mosquito-breeding grounds at construction sites.
