Govt cracks whip on Nafed, orders e-auction of onions

The Indian government has instructed the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (Nafed) to sell onions from its buffer stocks through the e-NAM platform instead of physically auctioning them. Selling through e-NAM will eliminate human interference and biased decisions, and help the government achieve better price realisation.
