HC stays MPCB order in a relief to Rohit Pawar’s firm

The Bombay High Court has issued an interim order preventing the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) from shutting down two plants owned by Baramati Agro Limited. The MPCB had issued a notice to the company for alleged violation of pollution norms. The court extended the time mandate in the notice until October 6, 2023. The company, headed by NCP Karjat-Jamkhed MLA Rohit Pawar, filed a petition for urgent relief, arguing that they couldn’t file a petition on September 28 as it was a public holiday. The next hearing is scheduled for October 6.
