The Rajasthan High Court has overturned the conviction of a man for murdering his wife in 2011 and has fined the state government Rs 25 lakh for “malicious prosecution.” The court found that the allegations against the man were unsubstantiated and that the prosecution had failed to follow proper procedures in the case. The court also noted that there was no evidence linking the man to the crime. The fine must be paid to the man within three weeks.
