Not Ameesha Patel, but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kajol were the first choice for Gadar

The Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ achieved great success at the box office, becoming the second highest-grossing film after Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’. Director Anil Sharma revealed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kajol were considered for the role of Sakina, but ultimately, Ameesha Patel was chosen. Sharma had to make a decision between casting a popular actress or retaining Amrish Puri as the antagonist, and he chose the latter.
