Andhra Pradesh posts 13% deficient rainfall this monsoon
Andhra Pradesh experienced a 13% rainfall deficit during this year’s monsoon season, marking a departure from the trend of above-normal rainfall in the previous four years. The state received 454.6 mm of rainfall, which is 13% less than the normal average of 521.6 mm. Seven districts faced rainfall deficits ranging from 20 to 34%, with Anantapur district having the highest deficit. The monsoon period witnessed significant fluctuations in rainfall patterns across the state, with some parts receiving good rainfall while others experienced weaker precipitation. The yield of crops may be affected due to the sparse rainfall in June and August.
