At 84, he still packs a punch

84-year-old C S Rajagopal, also known as ‘Judo’ Rajagopal, is an active judo teacher in Chennai. He has been training people in judo and Japanese jujitsu for decades, including many police officers. Rajagopal, who is also the vice-president of the Tamil Nadu Judo Association, teaches students from economically weaker backgrounds for free. His teachings focus on facing life’s challenges and the importance of forgiveness. Many of his students from nearby slums have found employment in government departments as a result of learning judo.
