Migrants flee Tehri village after locals tonsure man for ‘raping’ minor girl

Several members of the minority community fled Tegarh village in Tehri Garhwal, India after a video circulated on social media showing the family of a 17-year-old girl allegedly tonsuring and blackening the face of a Muslim laborer accused of raping her. Approximately half of the 40 minority community members, who were mostly migrant laborers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, left the village out of fear. The case has been transferred to the regular police for further investigation.
