The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has seen an increase in property tax collection overall, but the revenue from the Old City remains significantly below target. The Charminar Zone collected 72 crore in the first half of the financial year, while the target was 150 crore. The areas of Rajendranagar, Chandrayangutta, Faluknama, and Karwan have the lowest tax collection. GHMC officials are speaking with residents to clear dues by March 31, and the collections are expected to improve between January and March. GHMC has a target of 2,100 crore for property tax collection this year.
