After Manipur BJP’s SOS to Nadda, 23 MLAs support CM Biren

23 MLAs from Manipur’s BJP unit, including ministers, have expressed their confidence in Chief Minister N Biren Singh and rejected demands to replace him during a meeting with representatives of the ‘Youth of Manipur’ group. The meeting also saw the rejection of a proposal for the formation of a regional political party. Consumer Affairs Minister L Susindro Meitei stated that removing the chief minister or forming a new regional party would invite President’s Rule, and emphasized the voters’ role in determining leadership changes. The remaining 22 MLAs expressed a desire to return to Imphal to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
