Do desk jobs increase dementia risk?

A sedentary lifestyle, particularly sitting for more than 10 hours a day, increases the risk of dementia, according to a study published in JAMA. Researchers analyzed data from 49,841 adults aged 60 or older and found that more time spent in sedentary behaviors was significantly associated with a higher incidence of all-cause dementia. The study also found that exercise does not mitigate this risk.
