Vithya Ramraj, a Tamil Nadu athlete, has equaled the national record for women’s 400m hurdles with a time of 55.42s at the Hangzhou Asian Games. This record was previously set by PT Usha in 1984. Vithya has been consistently close to breaking the record in recent months, with her latest time being 55.43s. She will now compete in the final against two rivals from Bahrain, with her coach hoping for a time of 54.5s and a qualification for the Paris Olympics.
