Govt issues draft norms to check student suicides

The guidelines, known as UMMEED, aim to enhance sensitivity and understanding, and include measures such as setting up a School Wellness Team, identifying at-risk students, and providing immediate support. The guidelines also emphasize the importance of partnerships between schools, parents, and the community in preventing suicide and reducing stigma.
