Heavy rain likely in Bihar: Met

Heavy rain has hit Patna, with the India Meteorological Department predicting extremely heavy rainfall in eastern and southern Bihar. The south-west monsoon has been strong in the state, with heavy rainfall in several districts. The met department expects more heavy rainfall in certain districts and light to moderate rainfall in other parts of the state. Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected in most districts. A low-pressure area over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand is persisting, and conditions are becoming favorable for the withdrawal of the monsoon from certain areas.
