HEIs are preparing the ground for 6G deployment

Indian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) are gearing up for 6G deployment, even as 5G is being rolled out. Institutes like IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras are partnering with tech companies for research in 6G technologies. IIIT Bangalore is focused on research, technology development, standardization, and awareness. Bennett University collaborates with IIT Roorkee, offering 6G in its curriculum. HEIs recognize the need for 6G research to secure India’s position as a leader in this technology, despite challenges in funding and collaboration. Online courses on 6G are also available for upskilling.
