Japan pledges $1 billion for UN climate change fund

Japan pledged to put up to USD 1.11 billion into the UN’s climate change fund. Notably, this pledge matched its commitment given in the 2020-2023 funding round and also this makes the country one of the fund’s biggest backers, after Germany, Britain, and France.
