Contract reveals Chinese firm sold intelligence satellites to Russia’s Wagner

Russian mercenary group Wagner signed a contract with a Chinese company in 2022 to purchase two satellites and use their photographs for intelligence operations during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The contract allowed Wagner to obtain images of Ukraine and other areas where their mercenaries were active. The contract was still in effect and permitted Wagner to bid for more satellite pictures from the Chinese operator CGST.
