‘Interference in …’: Why India asked Canada to downsize its diplomatic presence amid row

External affairs ministry on Thursday said that India’s focus remains on achieving ‘parity’ in terms of diplomatic presence, and asked Canada to reduce its diplomatic staff in the country. The decision of the external affairs ministry comes amid an ongoing diplomatic row between the two countries, and comes days after New Delhi suspended the visa services to Canada and called for a reduction in Canadian diplomats in India.
