Centre bans Shabir Shah’s Jammu and Kashmir democratic freedom party

On Thursday, the Center declared the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP), established by incarcerated separatist Shabir Ahmad Shah, as an “unlawful association.” According to a notification from the Union Home Ministry, the JKDFP was founded in 1998 by Shabir Shah, who is recognized for promoting anti-India sentiments and advocating pro-Pakistan views.
