UP: 5 officials caught red-handed accepting bribe in past month

The vigilance establishment in Lucknow has arrested five government officials on charges of accepting bribes. As part of the crackdown against corruption, a dedicated ‘anti-bribery’ helpline has also been launched. The helpline number will be available from 10 am to 6 pm for complaints about corruption, ensuring the complainant’s name is kept confidential. The officials arrested include a lekhpal in Lucknow, a labour department enforcement officer in Moradabad, a village development officer in Azamgarh, a forest officer in Hardoi, and a clerk in a government department in Ballia.
