India’s compound archers, led by Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha Vennam, triumphed over challenging conditions to win gold medals at the Asian Games. The women’s team, consisting of Vennam, Aditi Swami, and Parneet Kaur, secured a narrow victory against Chinese Taipei, marking India’s first gold in women’s compound archery at the Games. The men’s team, including Verma, Ojas Pravin Deotale, and Prathamesh Jawkar, defeated top-seeded South Koreans to claim another gold. The athletes credited their success to their coach, Sergio Pagni, and Verma’s guidance.
