CDS Anil Chauhan underlines policy of ‘strategic autonomy’

India’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, has emphasized the need for India to take into account China’s growing assertiveness and rise in its overall strategic calculations. He highlighted the importance of India’s “strategic autonomy” policy and the shift from a non-aligned approach to being a friend to the world. General Chauhan also discussed the three pillars of India’s strategic autonomy: securing the nation, self-reliance, and shaping the environment to India’s advantage.
