50 years of Yom Kippur war: How US aided Israel’s military victory
The Yom Kippur War, which occurred in October 1973, saw Egypt and Syria launching a surprise attack on Israel. While the United States did provide significant support to Israel during and after the conflict, Israel’s victory cannot be solely credited to U.S. assistance. The U.S. provided military resupply, diplomatic support, financial aid, intelligence sharing, and strategic cooperation. Diplomatic efforts, including a United Nations-brokered ceasefire, also played a role in ending the conflict
