Freebies ahead of polls: SC seeks response from Raj, MP govts

The SC-bench, comprising CJI DY Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwala & Manoj Misra, also issued notice to the Centre, Election Commission (EC) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on the PIL alleging taxpayers’ money have been used to bribe voters ahead of assembly polls. The top court asked the Centre, states and the poll panel to file their responses in four weeks.
