Garbage being dumped along roads? 62 CCTV cams will keep watch now

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) plans to install 62 CCTV cameras at 14 secondary garbage collection points and the Bandhwari landfill site to monitor illegal waste dumping and timely pickup. The cameras will be connected to GMDA’s integrated command control center for real-time monitoring. The project aims to prevent unauthorized dumping, track vehicles, and prevent manipulation of waste weight. The MCG will also barricade the collection points and integrate the system with the control center. Experts believe that integrating area contractors into the system and ensuring compliance with waste management rules will lead to a more effective solution.
