Civic body to inspect 23 black spots for safer commute, fewer accidents

The civic administration in Pune has begun inspecting 23 blackspots on major roads in the city to suggest measures for reducing accidents. The spots, located on various stretches including Solapur Road and Nagar Road, have seen repeated accidents resulting in fatalities and serious injuries. The inspections are expected to be completed within a week, after which a report will be prepared and submitted to the district collector for approval. Measures to be considered include speed arrestors, dividers, markings, and lights. Commuters have identified poor road conditions, encroachments, and faulty designs as major contributors to accidents.
