Flash flood: Rescued from Sikkim homestay, Kol girls return home

Five girls from Kolkata were rescued after being marooned in a remote village due to flash floods in Rishikhola. The girls, who were on a trip together, had to trek 8km through difficult terrain to reach safety. They were eventually escorted in a car to New Jalpaiguri. The girls described their ordeal as a “greatest adventure” and expressed their shock at the situation. They were without electricity, phone, and internet connection during their time in the village.
