Create database of PwDs, involve them in church activities: Cardinal

The Archbishop of Goa and Daman, Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao, has called on all parishes to create a database of persons with disabilities (PwDs) and develop a plan to ensure their full participation in church activities. The Archbishop also wants parishes to make church buildings and websites accessible to PwDs, and encourage them to be involved in roles such as altar servers and choir members. Other measures include sensitization programs, training in sign language, and assisting PwDs in accessing employment opportunities and government aid. The proposals were prepared by Caritas Goa in consultation with clergy and lay faithful.
