The National Human Rights Commission has requested a report from the Keonjhar district magistrate and superintendent of police regarding three cases of sexual assault on minor girls. One of the girls became pregnant as a result of the assault, while another gave birth to a baby boy. The father of the survivor in one of the cases handed the girl over to the accused instead of taking legal action. The commission issued a notice after a petition was filed by a human rights activist, who stated that similar cases have been reported in other parts of the state.
