Five schools say 308 got RTE seats using false documents

Five private schools in Ahmedabad have lodged a complaint stating that 308 students gained admission on subsidized seats under the Right to Education Act (RTE) based on false financial documents. The city district education officer has initiated an investigation into the matter and will call the parents of these students for hearings. The schools claim that the parents submitted false income documents showing an annual income of less than Rs 1.5 lakh, which is the eligibility criteria for subsidized seats under the RTE Act. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against the parents.
