NDMC invites ideas from public for upcoming budget

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has begun preparing its budget for 2024-25 and is seeking suggestions from the public on improving various sectors such as water, electricity, property tax, and sanitation. The council has been implementing a “community-based improvement” budget for the past few years, allowing residents and traders to propose infrastructure improvements. Last year, the council estimated an income of Rs 4743.4 crore and expenditure of Rs 4,160 crore, with license fees accounting for 40.8% of revenue. The budget must be approved by the NDMC chairman before March 31.
