Six accused of murdering Ecuador presidential candidate killed in prison

Six men suspected of being involved in the murder of Ecuador’s presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio have been killed in jail, just a week before a key run-off election. The suspects were killed in a penitentiary in Guayaquil, and the government has condemned the killings. Villavicencio, a journalist, was fatally shot less than two weeks before the first round of the election.
