Under trees, at rented shops, the ‘schools’ that keep dreams alive

Unconventional classrooms are providing education to out-of-school children in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. These classrooms, set up by philanthropists, volunteers, and NGOs, operate under trees, below flyovers, and in community centers and parks. The alternative education models aim to reach children who face barriers like lack of proper documents, financial strain, and early job responsibilities. Some children have been able to transition to mainstream education, while others have showcased their talents in various fields. Mobile vans are also being used to provide education to children who cannot access these unconventional classrooms.
