ZP member’s murder case: Policeman eludes CBI arrest

A police inspector in Dharwad, India, managed to evade arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a murder case. The CBI had gone to arrest Inspector Channakeshava Tingarikar following a non-bailable warrant, but Tingarikar escaped through the rear door of his residence. He is accused of trying to destroy evidence and cover up the murder of zilla panchayat member Yogeeshgouda. The CBI is expected to seek the cancellation of Tingarikar’s anticipatory bail.
