HC sets up panel to inspect safety standards in schools

The Delhi High Court has established a committee to inspect the safety standards in schools to prevent crimes against students. The committee, called the Child Safety Monitoring Committee (CSMC), will be responsible for ensuring that safety measures outlined in a 2017 circular from the Delhi government are implemented and monitored. The CSMC has been given six months to submit a report on its findings. The committee will be headed by a former legal services officer and will include members from the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights and an advocate.
