Over 7.17 lakh students in Bihar have been disenrolled from government schools in the last 3 months due to consecutive absences. The state education department has been conducting daily inspections to improve education standards and address issues such as dual admissions and teacher absenteeism. The highest number of disenrollments occurred in Katihar, followed by West Champaran and Muzaffarpur. The department is also withholding salaries of absent teachers.
