Electric line at just 1 of 5 Sabarmati riverfront event blocks

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has been struggling to obtain multiple electricity connections for its event ground on the Sabarmati riverfront. Safety regulations prevent multiple connections, so only one block has electricity. The AMC’s subsidiary did not anticipate the difficulties of managing the space and divided it into five blocks, with only one having electricity. The remaining blocks require event organizers to use generators. Despite a meeting, no solution has been found. Renting the blocks costs between Rs 63,000 and Rs 1.05 lakh per day.
