‘Offensive’ posts: Conditional relief for Liver Doctor as HC allows him to access X account

The high court in Bengaluru has granted conditional relief to Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, also known as Liver Doctor, allowing him to continue operating his social media handle. This decision comes after a city civil court ordered X Corp (formerly Twitter) to suspend/block Dr Philips’ account due to derogatory posts about Himalaya Wellness Company and its products. Dr Philips’ counsel argued that the order was disproportionate, while Himalaya’s counsel cited previous court judgments in similar cases. The hearing has been adjourned until November.
